Cleveland comes into this one facing old man 3rd string QB Charlie Batch, but does that mean they have a chance now? Batch is 5-2 as a starter for the Steelers and was probably a better choice than Leftwich who played with cracked ribs in their loss to the Ravens. Batch is turnover prone and we will most certainly see him fumble or throw an INT in this one. Fortunately for the Browns star CB Joe Haden returns in this one to a secondary struggling without him.
The problem with the Browns comes down to the 4th quarter where they either let big leads slide to losses or they’re not able to comeback. The bad playcalling doesn’t help them much either and I don’t see how Pat Shurmur can keep his job after this year, even if they win this one.
If the Browns are going to win this one they need Weeden to be more consistent and the defense to make big plays. This one will be close but I see the Browns getting up and Batch not able to lead them back. 17-14
Play: Browns +3 1/2
Week 11 Browns Vs Cowboys- The Browns travel to Dallas after a much needed bye week, but even with the bye week CB’s Joe Haden and Dimitri Patterson are out for this one. This is a huge blow to the Browns secondary, look for Romo to exploit it and have a great game with the number 1 passing attack in the league. Knowing Romo he’ll still find a way to get an INT though.
The Cowboys are a strong defense and as long as Shurmur is calling the plays the Browns are gonna have a bad time. Former Defensive Coordinator Rob Ryan takes this matchup personally. “Anytime you pour everything you have into it and apparently management didn’t see it as it was good enough, of course it’s personal.” Ryan said.
If you’re one for weird trends here’s one for you- The Cowboys are 14-13 at Cowboys Stadium since it opened in 2009, but in November they are an impressive 6-1. With the stadium roof closed, the Cowboys are 8-0, but with it opened, the Cowboys are 1-5. However, with the roof open and the plaza doors closed, the Cowboys are 2-0. With the roof closed and the plaza doors open, Dallas is 3-0.
The Browns are 8+ dogs in this one, which is a sizable spread but I don’t see them covering look for the Browns to lose this one by about 17.
